The blast near the Israeli embassy in the Indian capital, Delhi, has caused a stir. The explosion took place on Friday night. The Indian police took swift action. This has been reported on the NDTV news.
Indian Foreign Minister S Jayashankar has spoken with Israel’s Foreign Minister about this.
Delhi’s Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has expressed concern over the incident. He said that any attempt to undermine stability would be treated harshly.
The president, prime minister, vice president and several senior government officials were present at a ceremony about a kilometer and a half from Vijay Chowk, the site of the blast.
Police say it was a low intensity IED explosion and no one was injured. The object of the explosion was wrapped in a plastic bag on the ground. The explosion damaged several vehicles. India’s Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) said alerts had been issued to all airports, large establishments and government buildings in the wake of the shelling near the Israeli embassy and that security had been tightened.
