Craig Brathwaite was the only Caribbean hitter to prepare well on the day of the big bowling alley at BCB XI. The Caribbean captain scored 75 runs in four and a half hours. Delivering Khaled with a slight reverse twist didn’t get him a century.
The West Indies got 256 on the first day. BCB finished matchday 11 with 24 runs without losing a wicket.
Rishad was not in the starting eleven of the BCB XI match. He worked as an additional gardener with a bottle of water in hand. However, there is no specific XI in this match. Rishad entered the field a little before lunch. At the end of the day, he was the most successful bowler with 5 wickets for 75 runs.
No specialized left-arm spinners or off-spinners were included in the BCB team for the match to prevent the West Indies from preparing well. The party window was not given. The field was full of grass, although all dead grass. Rishad’s inexperienced leg spin, two irregular spinners Shahadat Hossain and Saif Hasan’s Ankora out of spin also hit the Caribbeans at that wicket.
Rishad didn’t turn much of the brown grass window. Turn is not the place of your strength. The victim is caught mainly with variation of speed and superior spin. Two left arm bowlers, Shane Mozley and Kyle Meyers, were thrown in for a big delivery. The hitters’ contribution is higher on the remaining 3 fields.
Khaled bowled very vigorously in the morning using whatever help he had at the gate. The pacemaker was quite aggressive even though it didn’t get a wicket. He threw seven overs drawn from one end to the first watering. Even after the break he made another. His drawn spell was 6-2-22-0. At the other extreme, the Mukidul Islam pacer did not do badly.
The West Indies had a great first session with two fast bowlers. Brathwaite and John Campbell had 8 runs in the opening game. The West Indies were 79 to one in the first session. They lost 5 wickets in the second session.
The match started with a big delivery from Khaled off Stump. The extra bounce made him uncomfortable with Brathwaite-Campbell at times. Brathwaite touched the edge of the bat and the ball didn’t slide twice for a while.
Brathwaite got rid of the initial discomfort by hitting four on a great one drive from Mukidul. Khaled was hit by four with a point back on the square and Campbell got the first limit.
Loose pins from Shaheen Alam’s third pacemaker increased the Caribbeans’ running speed a bit more. The young pacemaker was hit four times in two consecutive overs by Campbell, six in the next over. After giving 22 runs in the first 3 overs, Shahin was eliminated.
Courtesy of Campbell, the team’s careers continue to grow rapidly. Leaving Brathwaite at 22, he reached 44 runs. The urge to run fast is finally your morning. He was caught in the middle trying to blow up Shahadat. They finished 6 fours and 1 six innings.
Brathwaite played as slowly as he. His attention was more on the wicket than on the run. He was not wrong to use bad balls.
However, shortly before lunch, Bangladesh had a chance to return it for 25 races. Rishad released the catch with her own ball.
Khaled Ahmed played well against two selectors.
Although the captain was at one end, the others began to come and go after lunch. Shane Mozley, the left arm, was thrown in a great delivery as Rishad’s top spinner. Enkruma Bonar was fired after hitting for Khaled and Nurul Hasan Sohan took a great catch behind the wicket.
Jermaine went to Blackwood and started shooting. He couldn’t stay on that risky path for long. Rishad went to pull a short ball and threw it into the sky. Yasir Ali Chowdhury took the easy catch running from the slip with a short, thin leg.
The next hitter, Kavem Hodge, couldn’t run. Khaled’s extra jump ball passed through Hajj’s gloves and into Rishad’s hands. West Indies goes from 110 for 1 to 131 for 5.
Then Brathwaite was accompanied by Joshua da Silva. However, after settling down, Jashua (20) threw down the window. The goalie-batter was caught in Long On while trying to lift Saif.
Kyle Meyers, who fell in the eighth, chose the fast break path in the disaster. Playing around the gate, this southpaw achieved great limits. Brathwaite survived as usual. The duo added 53 runs for the seventh wicket.
Rishad broke the tie by returning Meyers, who scored 40 runs on 7 fours from 39 balls. However, Aljari Joseph, who did not go down, maintained that line of attack. This fast bowler made 25 on 3 fours and 2 sixes. After hitting Rishad with two sixes, he came back with a window.
Khaled then stopped Brathwaite’s 18-ball tackles. Rishad took 5 windows with the last window.
Another phase of the selection exercise for the Bangladesh test team began after the BCB hit in the XI. Between Saif Hasan and Sadman Islam, who will do better, he will also be ahead in the fight to be Tamim Iqbal’s partner in the first Test.
On the late afternoon, Saif hit a six on a long out of Rakim Cornwall. They both finished the day without problems. On the second day your turn to pair up.
