Saurabh was admitted to the hospital last Wednesday for the second time this month with chest pain. He underwent another angioplasty at Calcutta’s Apollo Hospital on Thursday. Two more stents were placed in the heart.
West Bengal’s Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee, visited Saurabh at the hospital. He told the media that he had spoken with Sourav.
“Sourav is awake, talking. The surgery was successful. I spoke with him and his wife.”
A hospital official also told PTI that Sourav’s condition was stable.
“Sourav Ganguly’s health is stable. He slept well at night. Senior doctors will give him a full checkup and then decide whether to transfer him to another room or not.”
Sourav, 47, was admitted to the ICU on Thursday night.
Sourav was admitted to the hospital earlier this month. Suddenly she felt pain in her chest while doing gymnastics at Seba’s house and fell on her head. The former captain of India returned home after five days of treatment at the Woodland Hospital in Kolkata.
At that time, various media outlets in Calcutta reported that he had suffered three heart blocks. In one of which the stent was placed.
