40th BCS: 10,984 passed the written test

A total of 10,984 students have passed the 40th BCS written exam. The Public Service Commission-PSC released the results after approval at a special commission meeting Wednesday afternoon.

PSC’s public relations officer, Ishrat Sharmin, told The Daily Star that the results were published on the commission’s website. In addition, the result can be known by message through Teletalk. The oral exam of the passers will begin on February 17. The detailed schedule will be informed in due course.

The PSC issued a notice from the 40th BCS on September 11, 2016 to bring a total of 1,903 cadre officers to various positions in government. 4 lakh 12,532 people requested it.

The preliminary examination was held on May 3, 2019. 3 lakh 26 thousand candidates participated in it. The results of the preliminary examination were released on July 25 of that year. 20 thousand 26 people passed the preliminary. Although the written test was conducted in January last year, the results stalled due to Corona.

A total of 1,903 frames will be taken at the 40th BCS. A total of 1,903 cadres will be recruited through this BCS, including 200 in the administrative cadre, 72 in the police, 25 in foreign countries, 24 each, 32 in customs and excise and around 600 in the educational cadre. However, this number may increase even more.
