Dhaka: Tushar Ahmed, one of the defendants in the Hallmark money scam case, arranged to hold a women’s meeting at the Kashimpur central jail in exchange for a bribe of 130,000 taka.
Among them, Nur Mohammad from Kashimpur Central Jail-1 district 1 lakh, District Deputy Md. Golam Saqlain accepted a bribe of Tk 25,000 and another drill sergeant, the assistant prison guard accepted a bribe of Tk 5,000.
The jail’s chief superintendent, Ratna Roy, mentioned this in a report presented to the Inspector General of Prisons on January 14 while discussing the issue of the illegal association of women in prisons. However, he mentioned in the report that he was not responsible for the incident.
Meanwhile, Ratna Roy and Nur Mohammad from the district were removed and assigned to headquarters, as the issue of participation was seen on CCTV footage.
In the report, Ratna Roy blamed Nur Mohammad Mridha from the district for the incident. Deputy district deputy on the entire incident with him. Saqlain was involved. And the incident has been completely invisible and secret.

According to the report, Tushar Ahmed is a common prisoner. It is not classified, so there is no possibility of finding it in your office. Deputy District Director Golam Saqlain and Gate Warder Deputy Director Khalilur Rahman were quoted as saying they informed the district and brought Tushar to the office.
According to prison sources, the woman entered the prison office on January 8 at 1:57 am. Tushar, one of the perpetrators of the Hallmark scandal, arrived at the jail office from the jail cell at 2:04. Then the jail superintendent, Ratna Roy, left the office at 2.15pm. Tushar and the woman remained in a room in the prison office for 45 minutes.
Two separate committees have been formed from the district administration and the jail department to investigate the incident. As per the committee’s recommendation, 5 prisoners have been removed in two phases for the sake of investigation.
The retired officers are Ratna Roy, Chief Superintendent of Kashimpur Central Jail Part-1, District Nur Mohammad, Mohammad Saqlain, Deputy Superintendent of Jail, Sergeant Abdul Bari and Khalilur Rahman, Deputy Head of Jail.
An official said the woman was identified as the detainee’s wife. The matter can be confirmed in the investigation. However, the way in which the matter of meeting that woman has come to the fore is completely illegal. According to the investigation report, legal action will be taken against those responsible.

Five prisoners from Kashimpur Prison have been removed for investigation. Action will be taken against those involved in the investigation.
Regarding the report from the jail’s chief superintendent, Ratna Roy, he said: “All matters are under investigation.”
