The bodies of two fishermen killed in a tiger attack in Sundarbans have not yet been found. However, another surviving fisherman has returned home.
The fisherman crossed the Maondi River at the border around 12 noon on Sunday (January 24) and returned home through the Kaikhali Forest Station area in Shyamnagar Upazila.
Returning home alive, fisherman Abu Musa (41) is the son of Abdus Sattar from West Kaikhali village in the Kaikhali junction of Shyamnagar upazila from Satkhira.
The other two fishermen killed were Ratan, 42, son of Kafiluddin from West Kaikhali village, and Mizanur Rahman, 40, son of Mono Mistry from the same village.
Kaikhali Union President Parishad Abdur Rahim said locals brought fisherman Abu Musa from India across the Maondi River around 12 noon. He was brought back through Maondi by the side of the Kaikhali forest station area. Locals Latif, Arizul, Arash Khan and 4-5 other people took them to the area in a boat.
He said no traces of the bodies of Ratan and Mizanur Rahman, two other fishermen killed in the tiger attack, have yet been found.
The tiger attacked the two fishermen on Thursday night. Abu Musa was saved by boat. Later, Abu Musa was protected by an Indian named Pullad in India off the Kaikhali border for two days.

Rezaul Islam, former president of Kaikhali Union Parishad, said: “I had a lot of contact with Indian BSF officials through the CEO of BGB. However, the bodies of the two fishermen killed in the tiger attack could not be recovered. The incident lasted for three days and seems unlikely. The survivor Abu Musa Bhartiya was sent to our country by boat.
Kaikhali Forest Station Officer Mubarak Ali and Nildumur 16 BGB CO Yasin Chowdhury were contacted several times but did not receive a phone call.
However, Nildumur 18 BGB CO Yasin Chowdhury had previously said that two fishermen were killed in a tiger attack on Thursday (Jan 21) evening on the Paijuri Canal (not on the map) in the Indian part off the Satkhira Range. in western Sundarbans. The incident was reported through the live Abu Musa.
The BSF has been contacted to rescue the two bodies. They are trying to rescue, but no body has yet been found. Rescue work has become impossible because the place is inaccessible.
