Abida Jannat Asma aka Raisa (18) passed HSC in 2019. I met a person on Facebook, then a love story developed. She ran away without informing her parents and married the young man. Then go abroad to study. Meanwhile, she became involved in the militancy with the encouragement of her husband.
Nine active members of various militant groups surrendered to the RAB on Thursday (January 14) to return to normal membership. One of these surrendered militants is Abida Jannat Asma.
“}”>Expressing her feelings after surrendering to Interior Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal and IGP Benazir Ahmed, the young woman said: “I married him in 2016 without permission from my family on the basis of love.” I want to go abroad to study later. At that time my husband also went abroad with me. He basically agrees with his plan. But my family did not know.
“We were out of the country for about six months,” he said. Then I went back to the field. Back in the country, my family did not know. Back in the country, my husband and I hid in different places for about a year and a half. It was then that I learned that my husband was involved in a militant organization. When I found out, my husband told me to join him. He asked for help in his activism work. After listening to my husband’s words, I also got involved in the militancy. ‘
Asma said: ‘Little by little I am realizing the wrong path I took. It is not a normal life. I used to live a very hard life away from the caresses and love of my parents. The man who made me his life partner with a misinterpretation in the name of religion is also living a very difficult life. I am emotionally broken from being separated from society and family. You start to feel very helpless. At one point I decided not to surrender to the forces of order to get back on track. I give myself today through various processes. This has been possible thanks to the cooperation of RAB.
“}”>Addressing the youth of the country, he said: “I finally realized that I was on the wrong path. I don’t want anyone like me to make a mistake. May everyone live a beautiful and normal life without stepping on this path. I am also urging my runaway husband to turn back from the wrong path. Everyone must take care of themselves spiritually and mentally. Have your own judgment about yourself. Don’t blindly believe in anything.
After getting her daughter back, Asma’s mother, Shahida Sultana, said: ‘Today my daughter has come back to me. We have loved Asma since childhood. A few days ago I learned that the person Asma eloped and married is a militant. It also made her a militant. Being the mother of a militant is very difficult. I will ask all parents, who take care of their children, give time.
