Police arrested three people, including a woman, accused of raping a DJ in Bogra and attempting to rape his niece. The victim’s father filed a case at the Bogra Sadar Police Station on Saturday (January 9) morning. The incident took place on the night of January 8 in a rented apartment on Dattabari Benikund Lane in the city.
The three arrested are DJ Nisha Khatun Niha, 19, wife of Yusuf Ali from Kamalpur Char in Sariakandi upazila from Bogra, Nayan Mia Shah, 30, son of Anisar Rahman from Nishindara Akandapara in Gabtali upazila and Mofazzal Hossain from Thanapara in Gaibandha Sadar.
The father of the rape victim mentioned in the case brief that the accused Nisha Khatun Nihar together with her daughter and granddaughter held DJ parties in different places. Through Nihar, the defendants Raju and Nayan became acquainted with their daughter and granddaughter. In accordance with the above plan, Raju took the two victims to the fourth floor of the rented apartment of the Minko Palace on Dattabari Benikundu Lane in Nihar city around 11 am on January 8. Around 9 pm, Raju Ahmed telephoned the accused Nayan Mia. At around 9.30pm, Raju took his daughter (plaintiff) into a room and Nayan took her granddaughter to another room.
The plaintiff noted that Raju raped his daughter more than once during the night out of fear. Nayan also tried to rape her granddaughter. The defendant Niha assisted in this work. The victims subsequently escaped from the flat and returned home and disclosed the incident.
The investigating officer on the case, Sadar SI Sohail Rana Police Station, said the three arrested defendants were sent to jail through the court. In addition, a medical examination of the victims and statements under article 22 have been made in his court.
