Poush is leaving now. But in recent days the temperature has risen across the country. After a few days, Magh brings the severe winter of the year. Previously, meteorologists predicted the onset of winter from Tuesday.

This information comes from a report of the meeting of the expert committee chaired by the director of the Meteorological Department Samsuddin Ahmed.

According to the report, the country as a whole is likely to receive less than normal rains in January. A couple of cold spells may hit the country this month. Which can take the form of an intense cold wave (4-6 রূপ C). Meteorologist Shahinul Islam said on Friday that the cold snap could start in the northern part of the country from January 12. It will gradually spread throughout the country. Until then, the temperature in the country may rise a bit. However, the temperature is expected to decrease from the 12th on. Shahinul said two cold spells could come this month. One of them can have a very intense shape and the temperature is expected to drop to 4 degrees Celsius. The other is moderate cold. Meteorologist Ruhul Quddus from the Department of Meteorology told reporters that a severe cold snap is expected from January 15-16.

Abdur Rahman Khan, a meteorologist, said that the reason for the temperature increase at the end of Poush is that there is a kind of rain in winter due to the influence of Westerly (western light pressure). Then the temperature drops further. But this time the situation was not like that rain in nature. However, light clouds are seen in the Rangpur region, where light rain is forecast. However, it is more likely that it will not rain.

According to the Department of Meteorology, cold winds blow in the northwest due to the influence of winds from the west. The feeling of winter is diminishing as the effect of the Pubali wind from the Bay of Bengal increases. Now the difference between daytime and nighttime temperatures is 5 degrees Celsius higher than usual. Meanwhile, farmers fear adverse conditions in the production of winter vegetables, including wheat, as the temperature of the mercury is higher than normal in different districts of the country even after the end of Poush.

The highest temperature recorded in Barisal on Friday was 30.6 degrees Celsius. As a result, it is not cold in the south. The lowest temperatures in the country have been recorded in Srimangal and Rajarhat; 12 degrees centigrade. In addition to a drop in nighttime temperature over the next 48 hours from Saturday morning, light to moderate fog is also forecast for midnight.
