Officials connected with the autopsy found signs of rape on the body of the 18-year-old girl who was studying English in Kalabagan in the capital. They said she died of excessive bleeding due to rape.
The girl’s autopsy was completed at the Dhaka Medical College morgue on Friday afternoon. Sohail Mahmud, senior associate professor of forensic medicine at Dhaka Medical College, who participated in the autopsy, told Prothom Alo that the schoolgirl died of excessive bleeding due to rape. The student has been the victim of perverted sex. DNA samples were collected to find out if the girl had been fed something provocative or intoxicating, if it was a chemical test sample or if she had been raped more than once.
Age discrepancy
The schoolgirl’s relatives suffered from the age discrepancy in the case and the police report.
The girl’s uncle told Prothom Alo that although his niece was 18 in the case, the investigation report said she was 19 years old. And that’s why the autopsy is delayed. They suffer all day. X-rays are taken from the Department of Forensic Medicine to determine the age of the student. Later, the forensic medicine department of Dhaka Medical College called the Kalabagan police and fixed the age of the investigation report. Then the autopsy of the body began. After the autopsy, the body was brought to Kushtia for burial at night. She said her parents were almost angry after losing their daughter.
