The company agreed to pay Rs 250 million to the US Department of Justice to resolve allegations of fraud and deception against Boeing in the crash of two 737 Max models. The company reached an agreement on the matter on Thursday. This information was given in a BBC report online.
Boeing has been accused by the United States Department of Justice of fraud and deception. They say the company did not address safety officials about the “unsafe design” of the 737 Max aircraft. The company has opted for profit over loyalty, leading to two horrible accidents. The families of the 348 people who died in the crash will receive £ 500 million from Boeing.
According to the Justice Department, Boeing officials withheld information about changes to an automated flight control system known as MCAS. It has to do with accidents. This meant that there was a lack of information about the systems in the manuals during the training of the aircraft pilots. Additionally, Boeing did not cooperate in the accident investigation for the first six months.
