Eight members of the Rajshahi police have been suspended for playing in a residential hotel. On Thursday night, the Rajshahi Metropolitan Police and the District Police were suspended on separate official orders and attached to the police lines. They will also be subjected to anti-doping tests for suspected drug use.
Of the eight suspended, six are members of the Metropolitan Police (RMP). They are Deputy Assistant Inspector (ASI) Abdul Barek, Mizanur Rahman, Naik Afzal Sarkar, Agent Farhad Hossain, Abdus Salam and Shahed Ali. They worked on the police line. From there they went to the residential hotel and gambled. Two district police officers, Rafiqul Islam and Bipul, were suspended for gambling. Furthermore, a chef named Abdul Karim from the district police was also arrested at the hotel. You are on post-retirement low (PRL).
According to the official firing order of the policeman, the policeman was playing with cards on the second floor of a residential hotel in the Sheikhpara area of the city on Wednesday night. Upon receiving the news, the Deputy Inspector (SI) of the Boalia Police Station, Masud Rana, attended at 1:22 pm. He later reported the matter to higher authorities. They were later taken into police custody.
Additional Deputy Police Commissioner Golam Ruhul Quddus, spokesman for the Rajshahi Metropolitan Police, said such activities by these members of the police were against the department’s discipline and misconduct. Therefore, these policemen have been suspended from their jobs on January 8. They will be tested for drugs for suspected drug abuse. Similarly, the district police spokesman, Senior Additional Superintendent of Police, Ifte Khair Alam, confirmed the dismissal of two district members.
