Not Afghanistan, the ICC corrects mistakes
The ICC published the new test cricket rankings on January 8 after the New Zealand-Pakistan series. Bangladesh cricket fans are shocked to see the qualifying list and frustration spreads among everyone. This is because the world cricket governing body mistakenly included Afghanistan in the published rankings and Afghans with 56 rating points are shown at No. 9. Bangladesh, with 55 rating points, ranked 10th.
Which was totally wrong on the part of the ICC. Forgetting them creates confusion. The company reviewed the test’s ratings on Thursday after realizing its mistake. Where Bangladesh is at number 9 in the east. And there are no names of Afghans in the ranking. Because the country didn’t play enough games to make a name for itself in the rankings.
Afghanistan and Ireland achieved test status in 2016. The Afghans made their test debut in 2016 against India. Then there are two wins in four tests so far, they have two losses. They had no name in the published rankings before Corona applauded for not playing enough games. Unlike Bangladesh, Rashid Khan’s team did not play any events in Corona.
So the country has not yet qualified to be included in the ranking. But the ICC placed them in the ranking by mistake. As a result, Bangladesh’s position in white-clad cricket was shown below the young Afghans.
