After three years, there will be no problems with the quality of the WASA water supplied to the city of Dhaka. Company CEO (MD) Taksim A Khan said this on Monday.

Taksim A Khan said this at an exchange meeting held at the Dhaka WASA office in Karwan Bazar in the capital.

WASA MD said that the water supplied by Dhaka WASA is safe at the source. But there are problems with water quality due to supply line failure or dirty water tank (at home). To overcome this problem, the city of Dhaka has been divided into 145 groups (District Metro Area or DMA). 64 DMA jobs have already been completed. The rest of DMA’s work will be completed in 2023. After that, there will be no water quality issues. He said that all lines in the DMA area are being replaced so there is no fear of water contamination.

In addition to providing drinking water to the city, drainage is now the main responsibility of Dhaka WASA. With these two responsibilities, the company used to maintain 26 canals and about 365 km of canals in the city of Dhaka. On December 31, the entire ‘drainage system’, including canals and drains run by Dhaka WASA, was officially handed over to the two Dhaka city corporations. With this handover, WASA organized today’s exchange meeting with media staff.
