Experts fear that US President Donald Trump may launch an attack on Iran this month. Trump’s time as president is fast approaching. Before that, it could take reckless military action against Iran. Experts warn in advance about such fears.
A report by Qatar-based Al-Jazeera says relations between Washington and Tehran are heating up, marking the anniversary of the death of Iran’s top general, Kashem Solaimani, in a US attack. So experts fear the dire situation. On the anniversary of Solaimani’s assassination, Iranian leaders vowed revenge on his killers.
Experts show signs of this fear. The United States has flown three of its bombers in the Gulf in the last month. Last Wednesday was his last exercise. Kashem Solaimani was killed in a US drone strike in Baghdad on January 3 last year. The Trump administration has described the exercise as preparation for retaliation if Iran launches an attack on the anniversary of its assassination. A New York Times report on Sunday said the USS Nimitz, an aircraft carrier, would be stationed in the Middle East. Iran has repeatedly threatened President Trump and senior US officials. In this context, new decisions have been made. Just four days ago, the United States announced the return of the warship from the region. The US media also reported last November that Trump ultimately withdrew despite thinking of attacking Iran’s nuclear facilities.
