The judge granted a preventive detention of three days.

Seven days after the incident, the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) arrested Shahid Mia in the former bus stop area of ​​the Sunamganj municipal city on Saturday morning. Came to Sunamganj by bus from Dhaka. After his arrest, he was taken to the CID office in Dhaka for questioning the same day. There, the victim identified student Shahid Mia. Following questioning, the CID handed over the martyr to the Dirai Police Station in Sunamganj.

The bus driver and his assistant attempted to rape the freshman student on a moving bus on the afternoon of December 26 in the Dirai municipal city of Dirai upazila of Sunamganj. The student jumped off the bus to protect herself. He was seriously injured. He was later admitted to the MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital in Sylhet. He is currently at home.
