Strong cold spells are expected in some parts of the country in mid-January. The Department of Meteorology has hinted that the temperature may drop four to six degrees Celsius.

This information was revealed by the report of the meeting of the expert committee chaired by the director of the meteorological department and chairman of the expert committee Samsuddin Ahmed on Sunday (January 3). The report has been sent to interested government departments, including the Ministry of Agriculture.

According to the report, the country as a whole is likely to receive less rainfall than normal in January. A couple of cold spells may hit the country this month. In which an intense cold (four to six degrees Celsius) can form. A strong cold snap is expected from January 15 to 16.

The meteorological bureau said that there could be moderate to heavy fog in the northern, northeast, northwest and central parts of the country and river basins this month and light to moderate fog elsewhere. Dense foggy conditions can sometimes continue until noon.
