A fire broke out in a Tisha Paribahan passenger bus on the Dhaka-Brahmanbaria highway. The incident took place around 10 p.m. Sunday in the Betbaria area of the Brahmanbaria Khatihata Bishbrod crossing. However, no casualties were reported. Upon receiving the news, a unit from the Sarail Fire Service arrived at the scene and managed to control the fire after trying for about half an hour. Riaz Mahmud, a station officer in charge of the Sarail Fire Service, said the exact cause of the fire could not be determined. The bus engine is believed to have struck and caught fire.

However, eyewitnesses and passengers on the bus claimed that the bus’s engine was in the front and the fire was in the rear. As a result, it was not possible to confirm whether the fire was caused by something else.
Meanwhile, the Khatihata Highway Police Station arrived at the scene and monitored the incident. However, the police could not reveal the cause of the fire.
In this regard, the Officer in Charge (CO) of the Khatinhata Highway Police, Mahbubur Rahman, said that the passenger bus was going from Dhaka to Brahmanbaria. However, why and how the fire broke out on the bus is under investigation.
