Melbourne, Jan 3 (IANS) The Indian cricket team has warned that it will not play in the fourth and final round of the series against Australia in Brisbane due to strict quarantine. However, the Queensland government has said that it will not change the rules for India in any way.
The fourth and final round of the series will begin on January 15 in Brisbane. The Queensland government has made it clear that the Indian team will have to comply with strict quarantine rules in Brisbane to play in that Test. But Team India is unwilling to accept this condition from the Queensland government.
According to the Indian team, the Australian Board and the provincial governments of that country have no difficulty in following the rules. But it cannot be completely blocked. If you go to Brisbane, you have to stay at the hotel all the time. Without that, the team has no qualms about returning to the country after playing two games from the same city.
The team’s management further said that they have been in the biosafety zone and quarantined for a long time. Again, being quarantined will affect the mental health of cricketers. Therefore, it is not possible to play according to such strict rules.
However, the Queensland government has said there will be no changes to India’s hygiene rules. The Queensland government is reluctant to say that there is no problem if India does not want to participate.
“There will be no separate rules for India,” said Janet Young, Queensland’s health director. You have to be quarantined in Brisbane.
As corona infections multiply, there is a severe lockdown in Queensland at the moment. Ordinary people have also been banned from going out.
