Imports from India resumed on Saturday via the Hili land port in Dinajpur after a three-and-a-half-month shutdown due to the lifting of the ban. The importation of onions began three and a half months after a truck carrying 19 tons of onions arrived in the country from India at 3:30 pm on Saturday (January 2). The onion was imported by Messrs. Babu Enterprise, the Healy land port importer. No more onions arrived in the country from India through the port until 5pm on Sunday (January 3). But then 54 tons of onions were imported in two trucks. Ryan Traders of Healy Land Port imports these onions. The onions could also be imported through the port tomorrow, the interested party said.
