Police have recovered the hanging body of a housewife in Daulatdia in Rajbari upazila Goaland.

The body of Shishir Akhter Kali (28) was recovered from his home on Saturday night and sent to the morgue.

Kali’s husband, Humayun Kabir, is an official at the Daulatdia Ghat branch of Milton Grameen Bank. The village house of the two is in Shailkupar Kulchara in Jhenaidah. Kali lived with her husband in a rented house near the BIWTC truck reservation desk in Daulatdia.

The exact cause of Collie’s suicide is not yet known. However, the police initially discovered that Collie was in mental trouble as she had no children for a long time after marriage. Maybe that’s why he committed suicide.

Neighbors said that no one was home except Kali on the night of the incident. At the time, it was suspected that he did not open the door after many calls to get the key to another tenant’s house. The door was later smashed and Collie was seen hanging with the ceiling fan. Upon receiving the news, the Goalanda Ghat police recovered his body.

The housewife’s husband, Milton, said he went to the palace in the afternoon for personal work. From there I called my wife over and over, but she didn’t answer and I ran home. I came and saw him hanging with the ceiling fan.

Goalandghat Police Station OC Abdullah Al Taybi told Jugantar that it initially looked like suicide. Speaking with the husband, family and neighbors of the victim, it appears that the woman suffered from mental anguish because she had not had children in three years of marriage. That is why it is possible that he committed suicide.

However, the CO said that it was being investigated whether or not he was killed.

The housewife’s father has filed an unnatural death case with the police. The body has been sent to the Rajbari Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.
