A tunnel has been found on the border between Bangladesh and India, Indian media reported. The country’s police have reportedly found the 200-meter-long tunnel near the border with Bangladesh in the Karimganj district of the Indian state of Assam. According to the Indian media and BBC Bangla, a resident of a village in Karimganj, Assam, was kidnapped last Sunday. Later, a ransom of Tk 5 lakh was demanded by calling his home. The number from which the ransom was demanded was the Bangladeshi number, Indian police said. After receiving the complaint last Wednesday, the Karimganj district police launched an investigation and arrested a kidnapper. After questioning him, they found the tunnel. At one point, the criminals released the kidnapped person.
