The verdict also ordered Arman to be granted bail and compensation of Tk 20 lakh within the next 30 days. Humayun Kabir Pallab, the lawyer who presented the court petition, said: “Arman’s arrest has been declared illegal and against fundamental rights.” He has been ordered to pay Rs 20 lakhs for the loss he suffered due to illegal detention for five years. This money will be delivered by the IG and DMP Police Commissioner. You have been asked to pay compensation within the next 30 days and present the matter in the form of an affidavit on February 14.

According to interested police sources, Dadan Fakir was the OC at the time of the incident in 2016. The court ordered action against him and two ASIs and the investigating officer in the case. However, the information of negligence in the responsibility of the two ASIs in this incident has emerged in the police investigation.
