When asked about the meeting, Deputy Minister of Education Mahibul Hasan Chowdhury Nawfel, a MP from the Chittagong-9 constituency, said: “The elections are approaching. Chittagong and Cox’s Bazar MPs sat down today. Many voters live in the district. The leaders discussed ways to politically motivate them for the elections.
“Many leaders will not be able to participate in the campaign once the official campaign begins. So we have already talked about engaging voters to take political initiatives.”
Nawfel said the party would take a “tough stance” on the rebel candidates.
The meeting also discussed the nomination of a ward councilor due to the candidate’s death. However, no final decision has been made as there are two proposals in this regard.
