The Minister of State for Public Administration, Farhad Hossain, said that education must be joyful to prevent students from dropping out of school.
He spoke as a keynote guest through a virtual lecture at the inaugural 2021-textbook free distribution function to primary level students in Meherpur on Friday.
The minister of state said that students are often discouraged from going to school due to the school environment, the behavior of teachers, etc. To do this, students must make the study method colorful.
He said school buildings and playgrounds should be attractive so that students can enjoy the school environment. He added that children should be reprimanded if they are falling behind or neglecting their studies. This has an adverse effect on their minds. They need to be taught with joy.
Farhad Hossain said that students learn a lot by observing the behavior of teachers. Therefore, each teacher must present himself as a role model in front of the students. Children imitate what they see. So that no one can be abused in front of them.
The Minister of State said that the current government has given importance to this sector to further develop the education sector. To improve the quality of education and prevent students from dropping out of school, the Awami League government led by Sheikh Hasina is giving out books to students for free every year. In the midst of this corona situation, books are being distributed to millions of students in a timely manner. Which is an expression of the sincerity of the current government to improve the education sector. Separate textbooks for young children with ethnic visual impairments have been printed so that no one is deprived of education.
He said that children should have confidence in themselves. Therefore, along with the curriculum, it is necessary to encourage the reading of reflective books. In addition, children should be encouraged to participate in various creative activities, including sports, for their mental development.
The state minister further said that Meherpur will develop as a model region in the field of education. For this, both teachers and parents have to work sincerely.
