Farida Yasmin of the Daily Ittefaq has made history in the election of the National Press Club. He has been elected president of the management committee of the press club for the period 2021-22.

Farida Yasmin obtained 571 votes for the position of president. His rival candidate Kamal Uddin Sabuj obtained 395 votes.

On the other hand, Ilias Khan obtained 57 votes for the post of general secretary. And his opponent Omar Farooq got 393 votes.

Hasan Hafeez was elected senior vice president with 413 votes. His closest rival, Azizul Islam Bhuiyan, got 36 votes.

Rezwanul Haque Raja was elected vice president with 715 votes. His closest candidate, Khandaker Hasnat Karim, got 340 votes.

Shahed Chowdhury was elected treasurer with 606 votes. His closest rival, Salauddin Ahmad Bablu, got 26 votes.

Mainul Alam was elected deputy general secretary with 58 votes and Ashraf Ali with 395 votes.

Earlier, due to the epidemic, voting began at 9 am Thursday in the auditorium of the National Press Club following the health rules. Voting lasts until 5 in the afternoon.
