205 UK passengers to Sylhet were instructed to remain in quarantine

Another 205 UK passengers to Sylhet have been instructed by the Osmani International Airport health department medical team to remain in home quarantine. They arrived at Osmani International Airport on a Bangladesh Biman flight from Heathrow Airport in the UK on Thursday morning.

Earlier Monday, 144 passengers arrived in Sylhet from the UK. They were also instructed to remain in home quarantine.

According to sources at Osmani International Airport, a Bangladesh Biman flight from the UK landed at Sylhet Osmani International Airport with 236 passengers around 10:30 am today. At that time, 205 passengers from the flight landed at Sylhet Osmani International Airport. The plane left Sylhet for Dhaka’s Shahjalal International Airport around 11:30 am with the remaining 32 passengers on board.

Meanwhile, several countries around the world have imposed travel bans with the UK after a new type of crown (strain) was identified. However, the UK has not imposed a travel ban on Bangladesh. According to sources, two Bangladeshi Biman flights land in Sylhet from the UK every week. Also, every Wednesday a flight leaves for the UK from Sylhet. In December alone (as of Thursday), 1,389 people came to Sylhet from the UK.
