Professor MA Bari, Acting Secretary of Rajshahi University, has resigned citing physical illness. His resignation was accepted at an emergency union meeting at the vice chancellor’s residence at 11 a.m. Thursday. He presented his resignation letter to Vice Chancellor Prof M Abdus Sobhan on Wednesday.
The rector of the university, Professor Anand Kumar Saha, confirmed the matter. He said: “Professor MA Bari presented his letter of resignation to the Vice Chancellor yesterday. His resignation was accepted at an emergency union meeting Thursday.
Emergency union meeting: Vice Chancellor Professor M Abdus Sobhan, Vice Chancellor Professor Anand Kumar Saha, and Professor Chowdhury. Zakaria, Treasurer Professor AKM Mostafizur Rahman, Professor. Abdul Alim, Professor Rustam Uddin Ahmed and Professor via the Internet. Habibur Rahman and Professor M. Osman Gani Talukder were present.
In a letter signed by the main undersecretary of the Ministry of Education, Nilima Afroz, on December 13, the vice-chancellor was ordered to take the necessary measures to release the acting secretary professor MA Bari. The meeting was closed on December 16 due to the presence of the Registrar at the meeting of the University Admission Test Committee. Since then, Professor MA Bari has not visited his office.
