Rizvi was saved for a while

BNP Deputy Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi has been spared from a serious accident for a while. The private car that was transporting him was involved in a traffic accident in Kalaroa Bazar when he was on his way to Jessore airport from Satkhira towards Dhaka.

The vehicle carrying Rizvi encountered an accident on the Kalaroa-Jessore highway in Kalaroa Bazar at around 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. Habibul Islam Habib, publications secretary of the BNP’s central executive committee, was in the car with him at the time.

Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said on his mobile phone from the location that he was heading to Jessore airport from Kalaroa upazila of Satkhira. On the way, a van fell in front of a private car that was transporting them. Although the private car was damaged at the time, both he and Habib were unharmed. Rizvi said the injuries were not serious.

It can be mentioned that Rizvi was scheduled to testify and argue in the case of the attack on the convoy of then-opposition leader and current Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in Kalaroa, Satkhira on Thursday. Former student leader Habibul Islam Habib was charged in the case.
