The second-tier team from the West Indies will arrive in Bangladesh next January without 10-star cricketers. Akram Khan, the head of the BCB’s cricket management department, was shocked by such an incident. On the other hand, Mominul Haque Sourav, an experienced hitter from the Bangladesh test team, was quite surprised.

From officials to cricketers. Even the fans are very skeptical of the West Indies team. Why the absence of so many star cricketers? Although indicated as the reason, to keep them away from fear of the crown. And on the Caribbean Cricket Board, this freedom is given to cricketers.
But the question is elsewhere. All of these star cricketers have played or are playing in other tournaments. So where is your problem coming to Bangladesh? Last June-July, the West Indies toured England during the worst of the epidemic. Since then, a number of cricketers have played CPL, IPL out of the country, toured New Zealand and now play Big Bash. Like these series tournaments, the Bangladesh series is also being organized in the biosecurity zone. After playing in so many countries, before the Bangladesh tour, many people were surprised by the sudden fear of the Caribbean with Kovid.

BCB director Akram Khan said: “I am not giving an official answer from BCB, but personally I am surprised that not so many players are going.” We got no such indication from them prior to the team announcement.

“But it depends on them,” he said. Their boards give cricketers enough freedom to make these decisions. Just because not many show up doesn’t mean your team has gone wrong. That would be challenging enough for us. The importance of the series does not diminish.

On the other hand, Mominul Haque, who is to lead the next series of tests, was also surprised to see the Caribbean fleet. He said: ‘I was very surprised to see the team. I did not expect such a team. But do not despair. We have no qualms about what kind of equipment they will ship. We will have thoughts about ourselves.
Pollard, Holder, Darren Bravo, Shamar Brooks, Roston Chase, Sheldon Cottrell, Evin Lewis, Shea Hope, Shimron Hetmeyer and Nicholas Puran withdrew from the Bangladesh tour due to coronavirus fears. Fabian Allen and Shane Daurich are not due to family reasons.

The West Indies team will arrive in Dhaka on January 10. The first two games of the ODI series will be played on January 20 and 22 at the Sher-e-Bangla Stadium in Mirpur. The last match is on January 25, at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong.

The first test starts at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium on February 3 and the second test at Mirpur Sher-e-Bangla Stadium starts on February 11.
