An organization called Madhyapara Granite Mining Company Limited of Dinajpur has imported 120 metric tons of explosives in 10 trucks from India through the land port of Benapole. The value of the explosives in Bangladeshi rupees is one lakh 94,917 US dollars or one crore 75 lakh 8 thousand rupees.

At 5pm on Wednesday (December 30), 10 trucks entered the port’s Transshipment Yard No. 31 through the Indian port of Petrapole.

A company called C&F Agent AS International has submitted the necessary documents to Benapole Customs to unload the shipment from the port. When the work is completed, these explosives will be unloaded from Indian trucks and taken to trucks from Bangladesh. After that we will depart for Dinajpur.

Abdul Jalil, Acting Director of Benapole Port, said that Madhyapara Granite Mining Company Limited of Dinajpur had imported 120 tons of explosives from India to carry out the excavation. The necessary measures have been taken for the rapid unloading of goods.

He also said that security at the release site has been strengthened.
