Three people have been arrested in Daganbhuiyan upazila of Feni for looting around Tk 28 lakh on behalf of the Detective Division (DB) police. Police Superintendent (SP) Khondakar Nurunnabi said this at a press conference at the police district superintendent’s office on Wednesday afternoon.
Police arrested the three from different locations, including Dhaka, on Tuesday. The people arrested are the Md. Panchakaralia area of Taltoli upazila in the Barguna district. Zakir Hossain (38), said the district magistrate of Bogra. Sabuj Mia (50) and Md. Chatmohar upazila from Pabna district. Imran Nazir (36 years old). They lived in different areas of Dhaka.
According to the police, the agent of the Islami Bank branch in Daganbhuiyan. Abu Jafar Shaheen was bringing Tk 26 lakh 71,500 to the Kuthirhat agent bank branch in Sonagazi on October 21. When he reached North Alipore in Beker Bazar, the thieves blocked Abu Jafar’s road with the identity of the DB police. He was later taken in a vehicle to the Dayapur area of the Sadar Dakshin Police Station in Comilla. The thieves took all the money from him and left it on the side of the road. Abu Jafar filed a case with the Daganbhuiyan Police Station. The DB district police were given the responsibility of investigating the case. Police arrested three robbers in a raid Tuesday after a nine-week investigation. At that time, a car used in the theft and seizure of 50,000 taka was seized.
Feni DB police, OC ANM Nuruzzaman, said that the gang members were carrying out robberies in different districts, including Dhaka. There are cases against him in different police stations in the country.
