The DSE index is at its highest point in a year and a half

The last time the DSE index was in better condition was on June 30, 2019; That day the index was in the house of 5 thousand 421 points.

Wednesday was the last trading day on the Bangladesh capital market in 2020. Due to the bank holiday on the last day of the year, there will be no more transactions on Thursday.

In Wednesday trading, the DSE’s main index, the DSEX, rose 43.61 points, or 62 percent, to 5,402.06.

Trading with the index has also increased in the Dhaka capital market; In total, 1,543 crore 26 lakh shares have been exchanged on this day, which is the highest in the past 6 months.

Previously, more transactions were made on June 26. Shares worth Tk 2,543.25 million were exchanged on that day.

The trading volume on the DSE on Tuesday was 1,373.69 crore.

Of the 362 companies and mutual fund units listed on the DSE on Wednesday, 120 were up, 175 were down and six were unchanged.

Similar to Dhaka, the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) index also rose on the day. The main index of this market CASPI has increased 116.06 points or 0.6 percent to 15,592 points.

Shares worth Tk 61.12 crore were traded on the CSE, up from Tk 42.70 crore the day before.

Of the 26 companies listed on the market, mutual fund units increased 96, 143 decreased and 48 were unchanged.
