Dhaka: Trading ended on Wednesday (December 29), the last business day of the year, with a large rise in the capital market index. The country’s main stock market, the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and the rest of the transactions on the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) market increased.

Market analysis shows that on Wednesday, the DSE DSEX main price index rose 43 points to 5,402 points. Among the other two indices, the DSE Shariah Index increased by 6 points and the DSE-30 Index by 27 points to 1242 and 1983 points respectively.
Shares and mutual funds worth Tk 1,543.28 million were traded on the DSE on Wednesday. 160 million rupees more than the previous business day. The previous day’s transaction in DSE was 1,373 crore 36 lakh.
Shares of 372 companies and mutual fund units were traded on the DSE. Of these, 120 companies experienced an increase in prices, 175 companies experienced a decrease, and the unit prices of stocks and mutual funds of 8 companies were unchanged.
The top 10 companies traded on Wednesday were Beximco Limited, Beximco Pharma, LankaBangla, IFIC Bank, Square Pharma, LarfazHolsim, BD Finance, Shinepukur Ceramic, BSCCL and BATBC.
On the other hand, the general index of the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) CASPI rose 118 points to 15,592 points. The share price of 28 companies that changed hands at the CSE rose on the day
Shares of 98 companies fell, 143 fell and 48 were unchanged.
Shares and units worth Tk 61.11 crore were traded on the CSE on Wednesday. Which is 29 crore more than the day before. Shares and mutual funds worth Taka 426 million were traded on the CSE the day before.
