Seven people, including the former mayor of Dhaka South (DSCC), Saeed Khokon, have been accused of taking money to legalize a store in the Fulbaria Supermarket in the capital (Block-2). The case was brought by the president of the market, Delwar Hossain.

Regarding the case, Saeed Khokon said: “Everybody says that the current mayor Sheikh Fazle Nur Taposh, the plaintiff in the case and the president of the market Delwar Hossain Delu are doing this filth.” This is destroying the image of himself (Tapas) and of the party (Awami League). This was stated in a press release sent by Saeed Khokon’s public relations officer, Habibul Islam Sumon.

He said this about the allegations in the case Tuesday afternoon.

The case was brought against seven people, including Saeed Khokon, at the Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate’s Court, Shahidul Islam, on Tuesday morning. The court later said it would issue an order after reviewing the documents with his statement. In the afternoon, the court set the order of the case on Wednesday. The plaintiff’s lawyer was Nahid Islam Chowdhury, Masud and many others.

The other defendants in the case are former Revenue Director Yusuf Ali Sarkar, Deputy Assistant Engineer Majed, Kamrul Hasan, Helena Akter, Atiqur Rahman Swapan and Walid.

The case alleges that Saeed Khokon, Director of Revenue Yusuf Ali Sardar, and Deputy Assistant Engineer Majed conspired with each other and the other defendant assigned illegal stores on behalf of the adjudication. But the current mayor came to power and demolished illegal shops without designs. This resulted in the loss of millions of rupees to many defenseless shop owners. Many shop owners sold village land and assigned shops. Today everyone is affected.

Plaintiff Delwar Hossain himself mentioned in his statement that he had lost between Rs 30-35 lakhs.

Meanwhile, on December 6, Dhaka South City Corporation launched an eviction campaign outlawing the allocation of 911 stores in the Fulbaria Supermarket area. On the same day, the affected traders protested the eviction campaign. On that day, when the municipal corporation’s bulldozer began to demolish the illegal Fulbaria Super Market-2 establishment, protesting merchants began throwing stones. The police opened the selao tears operation to control the situation.

Then on December 26, the shop owners held a press conference at the Dhaka Reporters Unit (DRU) asking for a permanent assignment at Fulbaria Super Market.
