Pir Dewanbagi of Dewanbagh Durbar Sharif in the capital’s Arambagh has been buried. He was buried with his wife in Medina Dewanbagh Sharif behind the Bangladesh Bank in Motijheel on Tuesday afternoon.
Earlier in the day, Janaza prayers were carried out in Arambagh by Baba Rahmat. At the end of Janaza, he was given the Honor Guard as a heroic freedom fighter.
Earlier the Motijheel Zone ADC Enamul Haque told the media that the late Pir Syed Mahbub-e-Khoda Dewanbagi of Dewanbagh Durbar Sharif would receive an ‘Honor Guard’ prior to his burial for his special contribution to the war of release.
The Dewanbagh manager said. According to a press release signed by Arsam Kudrat, in 1971 Dewanbagi Pir fought valiantly against Pak aggressors as the Commander of the 3rd Platoon in the War of Independence. At the end of the war he served as a religion teacher in the army’s 17th Bengal Regiment. He subsequently established a total of 11 courts and more than 100 khanqahs in different countries of the world, including Bangladesh.
Syed Mahbub-e-Khoda, known as Dewanbagi Pir, died Monday in a private hospital in the capital. He was repeatedly discussed and criticized for his controversial comments.
Syed Mahbub was born on December 14, 1949 in Ashuganj, Brahmanbaria. He studied from Karimia Alia Madrasa in Talshahr to Fazil.
Abul Fazal Sultana Ahmed, the founder of Chandrapara Darbar in Faridpur, married Hamida Begum, daughter of Chandrapuri.
