The student list number system is being abolished. Identification number will be provided instead of roll number. The government is trying to make it effective as of the 2021 academic year.

Education Minister Dr. Dipu Moni said this in an online briefing on Tuesday.

The Minister of Education said: ‘There is unwanted competition in the list number system in all classes. So there is a lack of cooperative attitude among the students. Everyone wants to introduce themselves because of this listing number. We are trying to provide an identification number in place of the 2021 academic year class list number. This will abolish the old roll number system. And the unwanted competition will stop and a cooperative attitude will be created among the students.

He said: ‘A unique ID will be given to all elementary students. You will have that identification number in your entire educational life, you will be able to track it, whether you are going down or not.

Regarding the SSC and HSC exams, the Minister of Education said that if the situation in Corona is favorable, the SSC and equivalent exams can be taken in June 2021. The HSC exam can be taken between July and August 2021.

Regarding the book festival, Dr. Dipu Moni said that due to Corona, this year’s book festival cannot be delivered to all students on the same day. Each class will have three days to distribute books. In other words, the sixth to ninth grade books will be distributed in a total of 12 days. However, as always, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the book distribution program on December 31st.
