His family considers the death of Allama Shah Ahmad Shafi, the founder and former emir of Hefazat-e-Islam, to be “unusual”. His son Maulana Yusuf bin Ahmed Shafi Al-Madani has demanded exemplary punishment for those implicated in the judicial mystery of Ahmed Shafi’s death.
He made the demand at a press conference in Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh held in the Tafazzal Hossain Manik Mia Hall of the National Press Club on Tuesday (December 29).
The four demands raised by Shafiputra at the press conference were: reveal the mystery of Ahmed Shafi’s unusual death through a judicial investigation and provide exemplary peace to those involved; The case presented by the family must be investigated and the real culprits must be identified and arrested immediately; The safety of Ahmed Shafi’s family members and his followers must be guaranteed, and legal action must be taken against those who threaten to drop the case; And the opposition must be eliminated from all religious and social spheres left behind by Ahmad Shafi.
Central Hefazat-e-Islam leaders, including Mufti Faizullah, Maulana Mainuddin Ruhi, were present at the press conference.
By the way, Allama Shah Ahmad Shafi, Emir of Hifazat-e-Islam, died on September 18 while receiving treatment at the Asghar Ali hospital in the capital. A case has been brought against 38 people, including the party’s deputy general secretary, Maulana Muhammad Mamunul Haque, alleging that his death was unusual. Allama Shafi’s brother-in-law, Mainuddin, filed the case at the Magistrates’ Court-3 in Chittagong on December 16. The court learned of the case and ordered the Police Investigation Directorate (PBI) to investigate.
However, the current emir of Hefazat, Junaid Babungari Allama Shafi, died a natural death and was not tortured, he said, adding that the case should be dropped.
