Paba de Rajshahi police arrested a scammer for embezzling money through emo messages. Saiful Khan Shamim aka Jumman Khan (40) married an unfaithful woman via emo account messages and got 11 lakh 39,500 rupees.
Saiful Khan Shamim alias Jumman Khan is the son of Azizul Khan alias Azgar Khan from Bajrusar village in Khaserhat of Kalkini upazila district of Madaripur. He currently lives at Mugdapara No. 1, Mugda Police Station, Dhaka.
Jumman was arrested in the Motijheel area of Dhaka on Sunday night. Paba Police Station OC Golam Mostafa confirmed the matter.
According to relevant sources, the fraudster Jummon claims to be an American expat. But after expressing interest in settling in Bangladesh permanently, he fell in love with a woman from the Paba police station through messages from his emo account. Jumma then married the woman last June in accordance with Islamic law. During the love affair and after the marriage, Jumman snatched Tk 11,39,500 from the woman on several occasions through SA Paribahan, citing business problems.
The woman, realizing Jumman’s deception, filed a written complaint with the Paba police station. A common case in this regard was presented at the Paba police station. Shortly after the case was closed, a team from the Paba Police Station led by RMP Police Commissioner Abu Kalam Siddique led by SI Shariful Islam arrested the defendants from the Motijheel area of the Dhaka metropolis.
Paba Police Station OC Golam Mostafa said that during preliminary questioning, the defendant admitted his name and address and his involvement in the incident. He was sent to jail through court Monday afternoon.
