Statement of 11 prominent citizens on behalf of Kushtia SP

Dhaka: The statement of the District Police Superintendent (SP) SM Tanvir Arafat on the vandalism of the sculptures of Bangabandhu and the revolutionary Bagha Jatin in Kushtia has been supported by 11 prominent citizens of the country. They believe this policeman has spoken out for the liberation war in Bangladesh.

They made the remarks in a statement to the media on Sunday (December 26). The drama personality Nasir Uddin Yusuf sent the statement on behalf of 11 eminent people.

The statement said that the district SP SM Tanvir Arafat had given a statement about the vandalism of sculptures by Bangabandhu and the revolutionary Bagha Jatin in Kushtia. Like many others, we have had the opportunity to listen to the speech broadcast on YouTube. We believe this police officer has spoken out for the liberation war in Bangladesh.

His statement on the subject of sculpture has once again clarified the basic aspirations that Bangladesh achieved by fighting with the ideology and weapons of Bangabandhu. Similarly, the Hefazat-e-Islam statement against the SP statement clarified its anti-conscience stance in 1971.

On the night of March 25, 1971, the Bangladesh Police formed the first resistance against Pakhanadar’s forces. Rajarbagh historians have noted that rebellious consciousness in SP’s Kushtia speech. It has taken a firm and conscious stance for Bangladesh in the liberation war.

We know very well this part of the SP’s contradiction. They are the defeated forces of evil in war. Generation of Pakistani barbarians. Different eras come to the fore in different identities. Sometimes Jamaat-Shibir, sometimes Hefazat. They still don’t believe in the independence of Bangladesh. For this reason, they have shown the courage to smash the sculpture of the Father of the Bangabandhu Nation Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. After that, they will no longer be able to receive any discounts.

That is why we think that the SP has given one last warning to these extremists. But we see that the extremists are misinterpreting Ulto SP’s statement without being careful. Making poisoning, threatening. This is nothing more than a tactical attempt to divert public attention from the subject of sculpture vandalism and arrests of people behind the scenes.

Faced with this situation, we strongly demand the arrest of the intimidators. At the same time, we call on people from all walks of life, who believe in the spirit of the War of Liberation, to build a united resistance.
