Touhidul Islam Siam (22) was a third-year student (academic year 2016-17) from the zoology department. He was a resident student of the Fazlul Haque Muslim Hall.
His uncle Mukul Hossain said he committed suicide by hanging himself at home on Sunday night.
He told bdnews24.com: “Siam slept alone in his room at night. The door does not open after the morning visit. Later the door broke and he committed suicide by hanging himself with a fan.”
However, his uncle could not say why Siam committed suicide.
Siam is the only son of Rafiqul Islam from the village of Hijla in the Shakta union of Keraniganj upazila. He was at home at the time of the coronavirus epidemic.

He said that Siam was buried at night.
Although his uncle informed the police about the suicide, he contacted the Keraniganj model police station and the police officers said they knew nothing about it.
