Mamunul Haque assumed responsibility for the Dhaka metropolis from Hefazat

Dhaka: Khilgaon Jamia Islamia Makhjunul Uloom Madrasa Principal and Shaykhul Hadith Allama Nurul Islam Jihadi has been nominated as Acting Secretary General of Hefazat-e-Islam and the Central Committee has been expanded to 201 members. At the same time, the Dhaka Metropolitan Hefazat-e-Islam committee was also announced.

Hefazat-e-Islam’s central advertising secretary Noman Faizi said in a press release on Saturday night (December 26).

Maulana Junaid Al Habib has been declared president and Maulana Mamunul Haque secretary general of the Dhaka Metropolitan Committee. Maulana Mamunul Haque serves as the Deputy Secretary General of the Central Committee of Hefazat-e-Islam.

In this regard, Maulana Azizul Haque Islamabadi, organizing secretary of Hifazat-e-Islam, said that Allama Nurul Islam Jihadi was elected the new secretary general at the emergency meeting of Hifazat-e-Islam on December 23. At the same meeting, the 151-member Hefazat-e-Islam committee was expanded to 201 members. Furthermore, the metropolitan committees of Dhaka and Chittagong gave their approval.

Mamunul Haque, who threatened to remove the sculpture of the father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, assumed the responsibility of the most important organizing committee of Hifazat.
