‘Let’s promise to take out the government, let’s unite’

Gayeshwar Chandra Roy, a member of the BNP’s standing committee, has said that democracy will definitely return to the country if the nation is united. He said that the current government must be removed, I promise every day, I promise. There will be no division within the team. All must work in unity.

He said this at a discussion meeting marking the 40th anniversary of the founding of the nationalist Krishak Dal in the Dhaka Reporters Unit on Saturday afternoon. The meeting was organized by the nationalist peasant party.

Gayeshwar said, if the nation is united, there will be country, there will be sovereignty of the country. If the nation is united, democracy will surely return. If we can guarantee democracy, why will only 160 million people from the country be released, only Khaleda Zia and Tarique Rahman? Now Khaleda Zia and Tareq Rahman are doing as much as we are now solving the rest of the responsibility with sincerity and liberating the country through movement.

Noting that Ziaur Rahman’s name cannot be erased from the history of the liberation war, he said: “It takes courage to admit the truth, it is not the Awami League.” Ziaur Rahman is a close relative of millions of people in this country. Trying to delete, but not delete. This historical fact can never be erased.

Gayeshwar said that one can become a hero and, if he is a good filmmaker, he can stop at the screen in the form of an image. People get emotional when they see the actions of that hero and they also shed tears. But that’s the story, that’s the drama, that’s the movie. That is not history. History is always a fact. The advent of Ziaur Rahman, his actions are all facts, not a story. That is why it is history.

Speaking on the occasion, Krishak Dal’s BNP Vice President Shamsuzzaman Dudu said: “This government has ended the electoral system.” So I will say that there is no other option than to change government. We have to make all the preparations for that.

Krishak Dal member SK Saadi also addressed the debate. BNP President Advisor Abdus Salam, Deputy Secretary General, Attorney Mahbub Uddin Khokon, Krishak Dal Secretary Hasan Jafir Tuhin, Swechchhasebak Dal Secretary General, General Secretary Abdul Qadir Bhuiyan Jewel, Ulama Dal Director , Shah Nech Fishermen Party Secretary Abdus Rahim, Nasir Haider de Krishak Dal and others.

Also present were members of the Krishak Dal Central Convening Committee, lawyer Nasir Haider, Mainul Islam, Mohammad Alim Hossain, Mehedi Ahmed Palash and others.
