The Bangla Academy Honorary Scholarship-2020 has been awarded to 6 eminent persons of the country in recognition of their significant contribution in various fields.
At the 43rd Annual General Assembly Meeting at the Bangla Academy premises on Saturday, the President of the Bangla Academy, Prof Shamsuzzaman Khan and Director General Habibullah Siraj presented the awards, certificates, honoraria and flowers to the awardees and scholars and their representatives.
The winners are- Dr. Sarwar Ali (War of Liberation), Nurul Islam Nahid (Education), Nuh-ul-Alam Lenin (Social Philosophy and Literature), Professor Dr. Azad Khan (doctor), Liaquat Ali Lucky (culture), Jewel Ich (magic) and Manjurul Ahsan Bulbul (journalism).
Dedicated to the late president of the Bangla Academy, National Professor Anisuzzaman, edited by Habibullah Siraj and Piyas Majid, the books of the Bangla Academy and Anisuzzaman were released on the occasion.
In addition, the Rabindra Prize-2020 presented by the Bangla Academy, the Mohammad Barkatullah Literary Essay Prize-2020 conducted by the Academy, the Kabir Chowdhury Children’s Literature Prize-2020 and the Saadat Ali Akhand Sahitya Prize-2020 were also presented at the chance.
