The central BNP has expelled five leaders from its affiliated organizations in Netrokona’s Madan upazila. The information was released in a circular signed by BNP Central Deputy Secretary Belal Ahmed on Saturday.

However, local leaders have questioned whether the central BNP could expel the leaders of the organization. They claimed that according to the constitution, only the leaders of the organ organizations can be expelled by the central committee of their respective organizations. According to a press release sent to the media, the five leaders have been expelled pursuant to Article 5 (c) of the party constitution following specific accusations of participating in activities contrary to party discipline.
