Two legislators from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chanted slogans against Prime Minister Narendra Modi inside the Central Hall of the Indian Parliament. Modi heard the slogan on the occasion of the 98th birthday of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. AAP lawmakers Sanjay Singh and Bhagat Mann chanted slogans against the new farm bill. This information has been known by the report of the broadcasting medium NDTV.
For almost a month, Indian farmers have been protesting on the Delhi border demanding the repeal of the Farm Bill. Even then, the government has made no decision to repeal the law. Several opposition political parties, including Congress, India’s main opposition party, support the farmers’ protests.
On Friday, Narendra Modi went to the Central Hall of Parliament to pay tribute to the portrait of Atal Bihari Vajpayee. At that time, two AAP legislators chanted the slogan “Repeal the black law against farmers.” AAP deputy Sanjay Singh posted a video of the incident on Twitter.
The video shows two AAP MPs chanting slogans, but some more standing in front of Narendra Modi. Despite hearing the slogan, Narendra Modi left the Central Hall after paying her respects and speaking with some leaders. Even then, the two AAP lawmakers continued the motto.
Later, Sanjay Singh told reporters: “Parliament has not been convened. We did not have the opportunity to speak in front of the Prime Minister. Aam Aadmi Party MP Bhagat Mann and I called for the repeal of the black law during the ceremony in the Central Hall today. Millions of farmers protest. The new agrarian law is in favor of the industrial owners and against the farmers. We support the protest. Our call to the Prime Minister is to withdraw the three black laws.
It should be noted that the Government of India has recently amended the Agriculture Act to allow entrepreneurial farming and the purchase of any crops from farmers. Corporations will also be able to tell farmers what to grow with money up front. The idea of farmers is that this will harm their interests. They will eventually become slaves to the corporation. The benefit will be for large companies. In a few years, its exclusive market in agriculture will be established.
