This is the second highest number of coronavirus outbreaks in the country, according to The Dawn.

According to Pakistan’s National Command and Operations Center, in addition to the 111 deaths from coronavirus on Thursday, 2,256 people have been diagnosed with the virus.

Previously, a maximum of 124 people died in a single day on June 15. And 105 people died on December 15 after the second phase of the epidemic began. Thursday’s death surpassed that number.

The Ministry of the National Health Service (NHS) has said that Pakistan is on high alert after a new strain of coronavirus emerged in the UK.

However, Faisal Sultan, special assistant to the prime minister for health, acknowledged that the current state of Pakistan’s health sector is “very disappointing” and that the situation in the country is worse than in other Asian countries.

The coronavirus situation in Pakistan is being closely monitored, the Health Ministry said in a statement. All UK passengers are being screened. However, the new strain of coronavirus was not identified in Pakistan until Thursday.
