The temple authorities have encountered a natural obstacle in building a Ram temple on the site of the much-discussed Babri Masjid in Ayodhya, India. Experts say there is a risk of a landslide if the Ram temple is built there.
The Indian Express quoted the secretary of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Pilgrimage Trust.
According to the report, the construction of Ram Mandir has been hampered due to legal complications. But there were no longer any obstacles to the construction of the Ram Mandir as ordered by the Supreme Court last year. On August 5, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi also laid the foundation stone for the temple. But this time the Ram Mandir construction faces obstacles.
After the soil test, it was found that the structure under construction did not have the capacity to support the mass of the temple. So the problem is the construction of the temple. As a result, the trust is looking for alternatives. Technology experts from organizations such as IIT, NIT, Central Building Research Institute (Roorkee), and Larsen & Toubro face problems due to sand erosion on the west side of the sanctum sanctorum proposed for the temple.
The Indian Express reports that Larsen & Toubro, an architectural design company, has submitted that 1,200 concrete piers will be installed at a depth of 20 to 40 meters above the ground.
The trust’s secretary, Champat Rai, said that several pillars were placed 125 feet underground and tested 28 days later. The pillars were tested with a mass of 600 tons. But no unexpected results were found. The readings available on the machine were not expected.
He said that the Saryu River flows west of the sanctum sanctorum. There is river water and sand next to where the pillars have been placed. According to the engineers, soft sand cannot contain the mass of architecture. So experts are thinking about how to keep the river water near the sanctum sanctorum of the temple. How to build architecture on sand and increase the durability of concrete pillars.
By the way, in December 1992, supporters of communal and fascist forces and political parties played a provocative role in the attack on Babri Masjid, and Muslims brutally attacked the 500-year-old mosque.
In November 2019, a five-member division bank headed by Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi ruled that the temple would be built on the disputed land.
The way Ram temple was decided instead of Babri Masjid
The Babri Masjid was demolished in 1992 in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, India. There was a dispute between Hindus and Muslims in this region for many years.
The Ram Janmabhoomi Trust and the Sunni Waqif Board approached the Supreme Court about the disputed site. Finally, in November 2019, the Supreme Court of India rendered the final verdict in favor of building a Ram temple at this disputed location.
Instead, the Supreme Court ordered the Muslim side to give five acres of land in Ayodhya to build a mosque. There is discontent among Muslims with the verdict.
The government announced the laying of the foundation stone for the temple of Ram in April. But due to the crash, the whole process is delayed. Three days before the Delhi elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had spoken at the Lok Sabha about the formation of the trust.
BJP MPs chanted ‘Joy Shri Ram’ that day. Mohant Nrityagopal Das, president of the Ram Janmabhoomi Tirthakshetra Trust, visited the temple’s construction site on May 26. After the puja there, he announced the start of work on the Ram temple.
During the debate, Ramlala was worshiped in a temporary tin structure. Last March, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Yogi Adityanath, transferred the Ramlala idol to Manas Bhavan.
What will the temple of Ram be like?
The structure of this new temporary fiber temple is completely bulletproof. News that the temporary temple is about to reopen after the closure is relaxed. From now on, Ramlala’s daily worship will begin according to social distance and other restrictions.
The idol of Ram Lala has been moved to an alternate location for the construction of the Ram temple, where the temple will remain open. Fans will be able to visit and adore him. The temple will be open for eight hours.
8am to 1pm and 3pm to 6pm. Only 5 people can enter the temple. The temple will be in accordance with the design approved by the Hindu World Council. A total height of 125 feet. However, proposals to increase it to 160 feet have come from various places. The first floor of the temple is 18 feet. There will be a statue of Ram Lala. The second floor will be 15 feet 9 inches. This second floor will be built as ‘Ram’s Patio’.
