The Bangladesh Awami League cultural subcommittee has been formed. A 45-member subcommittee has been formed with Awami League advisory council member Ataur Rahman as president and Asim Kumar Ukil as culture secretary. The committee will serve for a three-year term from 2019 to 2021.
This information was released in a press release issued by the culture subcommittee on Thursday. The subcommittee is said to have been approved by the Secretary General of the Bangladesh Awami League, Obaidul Quader, on the instructions of the Awami League President Sheikh Hasina. In the previous legislature (2018-2019), Ataur Rahman and Asim Kumar Ukil also led the cultural subcommittee.
Led by Ataur Rahman and Asim Kumar Ukil, the committee includes former Culture Minister and MP Asaduzzaman Noor, MP Simin Hossain Rimi, current Minister of State for Culture KM Khalid Babu, former Minister of State Tarana Halim, former Juba leader League Choyan Islam and the president of Mashranga Television Anjan Chowdhury Pintu. Altamas Kabir, actor Azizul Hakim, actor Ferdous Ahmed, actor Zayed Khan, actor Harunur Rashid, actor Ehsanul Haque Minu, musician Rafiqul Alam, musician Shuvro Dev, former DIG of Bangladesh Police Md.
