The Standing Parliamentary Committee of the Ministry of Lands has sought a list of land grabbers on the Bhawal Estate. The committee meeting was informed that 357 acres of land have been evicted from this farm. Of these, 349,1507 acres are in the Dhaka district and 7.75 acres in the Gazipur district.
The commission chairman chaired the meeting held in Parliament on Thursday. Maqbool Hossain. Committee member Land Minister Saifuzzaman Chowdhury, Manoranjan Sheel Gopal, Md. Shahjahan Mia, Anwarul Azim Anar, Nesar Ahmed, Umme Fatema Nazma Begum and Aminul Islam and interested officials were present.
According to the ministry report raised at the meeting, the total assets of the Bhawal Estate amount to 30,420.9241 acres according to CS (Cadastral Survey) records. Of these, the Dhaka metropolis has 1,035.5321 acres, Savar 46.8 acres, Keraniganj 152.91 acres, Narayanganj 22.23 acres, Mymensingh 0.13 acres, and Gazipur 29,161.3420 acres.
Apart from the 141,6481 acres of khas occupied by the zamindars on this land, out of 30,269.06 acres of land, about 24,000 acres of land in Gazipur are in the possession of the forest department. The remaining 6,299.6375 acres of land are registered and occupied by SA and RS Record Person No. 1 in Khas Khatian and on behalf of various governmental and non-governmental organizations.
Meanwhile, on the CS record, the Bhawal Estate land is 30,421 acres, but according to the latest record (RS in Gazipur, City Survey in Dhaka), the record amount of land is 512,6025 acres. Of these, 363.2825 acres in the Dhaka district and 139.54 acres in Gazipur. Apart from this, the amount of land occupied through Eksana’s lease and directly occupied is 121,2894 acres.
At the meeting it was reported that 1,740,605 acres of land from the Bhawal Estate had been leased to 13,433 individuals and organizations. The annual income from this is four crore 60 lakh 36 thousand 733 rupees.
When asked about it, committee member Aminul Islam told reporters that instructions have been given to present at the next meeting the number of records on behalf of any person or organization on the land of the Bhawal Estate. In addition, considering the importance of the cases in court in these lands, it has been recommended to resolve them quickly.
